Rachel Arthur is the Advocacy Lead for Sustainable Fashion at the UN Environment Programme. She helped lead the strategy for the UN Environment Programme’s Theory of Change for textiles and fashion. She is often described as one of the least sustainable sectors and a major contributor to the triple planetary crisis of climate change, nature and biodiversity loss, and pollution and waste. In this role, she was also the author of the fantastic 100-page Sustainable Fashion Communication Playbook, part of an effort to change the narrative and align fashion communication with the 1.5-degree climate target and wider sustainability goals. A guide for consumer-facing communicators, the Playbook acknowledges the power of marketing and PR in shaping desire, aspiration and consumption levels, making it applicable across numerous other sectors.
Join us on Tuesday 19th March 2024 11:00 GMT online as we talk to Rachel about the power of storytelling and the role we, as communicators, can play in creating a more sustainable future. Cornelia Kunze, i-sekai, Chair of the GWPR International Board will moderate this edition of Inside Stories.
