Why did you agree to be a mentor?
Throughout my professional journey, I’ve had the privilege of meeting and engaging with influential female role models who have enriched my vision and skills. I strongly believe in the crucial importance of mentorship in promoting and spreading female empowerment. This practice not only fosters the individual development of mentees but also helps create a network of solidarity and growth that positively impacts society as a whole.
How do you feel this benefits you personally and professionally?
Being a mentor has significantly broadened my perspective within my professional field. Interacting with my mentee has prompted me to reflect on my past experiences, identify critical factors that have influenced successes and failures, and consider new approaches to tackle challenges and seize future opportunities. I particularly appreciated the international aspect of the mentorship program, which exposed me to diverse perspectives and cultures, thus enriching my pool of ideas and experiences. I have drawn great inspiration from my mentee. The experience has been enriching both on a human and professional level, as I firmly believe that mentorship is a two-way street. Observing my mentee’s interest and enthusiasm and receiving updates on her progress in the areas we have explored together has been gratifying.
How do you believe your mentee has benefitted from this journey?
I sincerely hope that my mentee, Pia, has benefited from our conversations and gained new skills and perspectives on leadership. I hope she found the practical tools we examined useful and successfully applied them in her professional journey. Our exchange was a balanced mix of broad strategic visions and practical solutions for specific situations, and I hope all of this has tangibly contributed to her development and success.
